Sander Lylloff

EPT Champion & World's best backgammon player

Born on April 7, 1982, Sander Lylloff still resides in his birthplace of Copenhagen, Denmark. He’s is best known as a giant of backgammon and considered one of the best players in the world.  In 2001, it was a team of backgammon friends that introduced him to the game of poker. “I got killed,” said Lylloff, reminiscing over his first day at the poker table. But possessing a competitive spirit, he set his sights on learning the new craft.

In 2005, Lylloff and backgammon partner Mark Teltscher of England finished second in the Pro Am backgammon event in Las Vegas. Little did they know they would both come face to face at the EPT Barcelona Open final table two years later. Lylloff moved all-in on the flop with J-10 against Teltscher, who called with pocket Kings. Lylloff turned a set of jacks and the heads-up duel ended when Teltscher’s hand failed to improve on the river. Lylloff won the title and €1,170,700 in prize money.

His favorite poker game is shorthanded pot-limit Omaha and, of course, backgammon. He looks forward to challenging players on VictoryPoker.net and eventually to online backgammon.

I jointed Team Victory because of the great vibe and great people,” Lylloff stated. “It’s lots of fun, and a potent mix of talent in several disciplines. Not only are they good poker players, but they are very sharp individuals.”
